May 30, 2013 - Brevard Community College women's tennis coach Chuck Jacobs has signed his second player to the first-year team.

Kaila Cochran, a graduate of Melbourne Central Catholic High School and a student at BCC, joins inaugural recruit and Wichita State University transfer Masa Smic on the team that begins competition in the fall.

Cochran, of Indialantic, FL, played out of the number one spot at MCC and earned 2012 FLORIDA TODAY All-Space Coast first-team honors.

"I am very excited to have Kaila on the team," Jacobs said. "I remember watching her matches last year when she played with MCC. She is very quick around the court and is very consistent from the baseline. I believe her winning attitude and work ethic will be a great addition to the team."

BCC will compete starting July 1 under its new name Eastern Florida State College. It will practice and play its matches at Melbourne's Jimmy Moore Tennis Complex at Sarno and Wickham roads.
