Eastern Florida Softball Splits with FSCJ

Feb. 15, 2014 - Eastern Florida's softball team split a home doubleheader with Florida State College Jacksonville on Saturday, losing 9-5 and winning 14-6 on the Palm Bay Campus.

FSCJ rallied in the last inning of the first game for the victory. Sophomore left-hander Brooke Formby was the losing pitcher, falling to 3-2 on the season.

Formby helped herself at the plate going 3-for-4 with a run batted in. Freshman Shelby Nazworth also went 3-for-4 with a run batted in.

Eastern Florida rolled in the second game behind winning pitcher freshman right-hander Dajia Jones who improved to 4-0 on the season.

Sophomore Manya Lopez went 2-for-3 with five runs batted in for Eastern Florida while classmate Bri Seaman went 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs batted in.

Eastern Florida rapped out 14 hits to improve to 7-3. The Titans return to action on Sunday playing a noon and 2 p.m. doubleheader at Polk State College.

FSCJ moved to 6-6 on the season.
