Eastern Florida Softball Splits Two Games in St. Augustine

Feb. 9, 2014 - Eastern Florida's softball team split two games on Sunday's final day of the Triple Crown tournament in St. Augustine.

The Titans beat Palm Beach State College 6-4 in their first game but fell 7-2 to Florida State College Jacksonville in the second game. Eastern Florida is 4-2 on the young season.

Freshman Hannah Denny was the winning pitcher in the first game and the losing pitcher in the second.

Sophomore Brooke Formby went 4-for-4 in the first game with three runs scored. Eastern Florida managed just three hits in the second game.

Eastern Florida was hurt by errors committing a total of four.

Next up for Eastern Florida is a Thursday doubleheader at South Florida State College in Avon Park. The Titans return home to the Palm Bay Campus to host FSCJ at noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free.
