BCC Splits Softball Doubleheader with Daytona State College

February 12, 2013 - Brevard Community College's softball team split a doubleheader for the third time this season, beating host Daytona State College 10-4 in the first game on Tuesday but losing the second game 7-6 in seven innings.

BCC dropped to 6-9 on the season.

Sophomore Shannen Marchu was the winning pitcher in the first game but took the loss in the second game to drop her won-loss record to 6-4.

Sophomore All-American Cassie Boggs was the hitting star for BCC in the first game going 5-for-5 with two doubles, two runs batted in and four runs scored. Classmate Kat Ammons went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs batted in and two runs scored.

Next up for BCC is a 4 and 6 p.m. Friday doubleheader at St. Johns River in Palatka. BCC hosts Polk State College at 2 and 4 p.m. on Sunday on the Palm Bay Campus and hosts South Florida Community College at 5 and 7 p.m. on Monday, also in Palm Bay.
