Courtney Hueston

October 29, 2012 - Women's soccer player Courtney Hueston and golfer Arthur Leonard are the Brevard Community College student-athletes of the week for the week ending Oct. 28.

Hueston, a sophomore from Miami, is being honored for the third time. She scored three goals and recorded an assist in BCC's 4-0 victory against Polk State College on Oct. 23.

"Courtney had a great game against Polk," BCC head coach Jeff Carr said. "Courtney is one of our leaders on and off the field."

Leonard, a freshman from Hockley, England, is being honored for the second time. He shot 72-71-70-213 to finish as medalist in last week's NJCAA Division I District 4 Fall Preview tournament in Pendleton, S.C. It was the first medalist finish for BCC since Billy Anderson won the Wallace State (Alabama) Fall Invitational in 2011.

"Arthur Leonard continues to put the pieces in place to be a successful student-athlete," BCC head coach Jamie Howell said. "He is punctual, knows his responsibilities and constantly strives to get better. He possesses all the qualities any coach would welcome in a team member and every so often I have to be reminded he is a freshman."
