BCC Jumps to No. 2 in NJCAA Women's Soccer Rankings

September 26, 2012 - The Brevard Community College women's soccer team is ranked second nationally in the weekly NJCAA Division I poll. BCC was third for the last two weeks.

Undefeated Hutchinson (KS) Community College, 9-0, is ranked No. 1 for the third consecutive week. BCC was ranked No. 1 for the week of Sept. 5.

BCC (5-1) is ranked 10th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll. Its opponent on Friday night – Polk State College (4-1) – is tied for sixth with Butler (KS) Community College in the NJCAA poll and is ninth in the NSCAA rankings.

BCC head coach Jeff Carr is taking the ranking in stride.

"At this point it is nice to be ranked, but we as a program never even talk about it with the girls anymore," he said. "Our focus is on getting better as a team and preparing for Polk this week."
