From The Pitch: Big Games Require Big Effort

Lois photo

September 17, 2012 - After losing to Tyler last weekend we started the week's practices by working on our defensive shape. Some touches here and there were going to prepare us for our game against Darton, and let me tell you – it worked.

We played Darton twice last year, it was the team that beat us in the last round of the district playoffs and stopped us from reaching the nationals. This was a game we really wanted to win. We played in Albany, GA, and I was happy to see the will and passion that some of our players showed on the field. We are going to need more of that when we play the real big games. We scored two goals and won, thanks to a great effort from all of our players.

This week will be more serious than any other so far. We will play our first two conference games, Polk on Tuesday and Broward on Friday. I believe that our team has the ability to win, but it all depends if we are willing to put the effort in and truly fight for what we want.

Here we go.
