Eastern Florida Men's Soccer Hosts Broward College on Saturday Night

Oct. 11, 2013 - With both a postseason berth and a winning record assured Eastern Florida State College head men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees isn't easing up.

Far from it.

Practices and preparation have been just as intense for the first-year team which is 7-1-1, qualified for the NJCAA Division I playoffs and ranked seventh nationally by the NJCAA and eighth by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

"We are looking forward to another competitive game with our in-state rivals," said Twelvetrees looking ahead to Saturday's 7 p.m. home match with Broward College, which Eastern Florida has defeated twice, 3-0 and 3-1, to secure the postseason berth.

"We need to put in a quality performance, keep improving and put the ball in the back of the net as we continue moving toward the postseason."

Beyond Broward, Eastern Florida hosts Webber International's junior varsity at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Middle Georgia at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27. Admission to Eastern Florida home games is free.

Freshman Jordan Muir leads Eastern Florida in scoring with eight goals and six assists. Freshman Justin Gavin leads in assists with seven. Eastern Florida has scored 26 goals and allowed 12.
