Four Share Honors as Eastern Florida Student-Athletes of Week

Feb. 24, 2014 - Softball, baseball and women's basketball players share the honors as Eastern Florida State College's Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 23.

The honorees are women's basketball's Jessica Doyle, softball's Bri Seaman and baseball's Christian Diaz and Alessandro Lima.

Doyle, a freshman guard from Palm Bay FL, and Heritage High totaled 63 points in three games including a team-high 29 in Eastern Florida's victory at Indian River State on Saturday.

Doyle was 16-for-16 from the free throw line at Indian River, 14-for-14 in the second half.

Seaman, a sophomore outfielder from Windsor High in Windsor, CO, went 10-for-19 in four games for a .526 average collecting three doubles and four runs batted in and scoring three runs.


Diaz, a freshman leftfielder from Tampa, had eight hits and 10 runs batted in for the week. The hits included a double, two triples and a home run. He collected seven RBIs in a doubleheader sweep at the College of Central Florida.


Lima, a freshman designated hitter and first baseman from Miami and Mater Lakes Academy, had a stellar day in a victory against Daytona State College going 5-for-5 with three RBIs.
