March 4, 2013 - Sophomores Cassie Boggs and Matt Harris share the honors as Brevard Community College Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 3.

Boggs, an outfielder from Longwood, FL and Lyman High School, was 5-for-7 in a Feb. 27 doubleheader against St. Johns River State College with a two-run home run, three runs scored and seven runs batted in and had two doubles against Lake Sumter on March 2.

Boggs is batting .464, has an on-base percentage of .496 and a slugging percentage (total bases divided by at bats) of .625.

"It's an honor coaching a solid player like this who has the desire and will to perform day in and day out on the field and in the classroom," BCC assistant coach Bob Yanczewski said.

Harris, an outfielder and first baseman from Melbourne, FL and Melbourne High School, went 4-for-5 with two runs batted in against Indian River State on Feb. 26 and had a triple and scored twice against Broward College on March 2.

"Matt has started seeing the ball well and is hitting the ball to all fields," BCC head coach Jeff Tam said. "He is getting back to the consistent Matt Harris of last year. He is a big key to our offensive success and getting him hot will take a lot of pressure off of our younger players."
