Freshmen Jess Fassnidge, Jade Rhodes, Heather Williams and Melissa Williams combined to hold Pearl River Community College to three shots on goal, two over the final 85 minutes, as BCC advanced to the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament with a 4-0 victory on Saturday in Poplarville, MS.

The national tournament begins Monday, Nov. 12, at Melbourne Central Catholic.

"Our back four are a very solid group that do not get a lot of recognition for the job they have done in limiting the shots on goalkeeper Julia Kantor this season," BCC head coach Jeff Carr said. "It is very appropriate that they are players of the week as a unit."

BCC has outscored its 13 opponents 42-8 this season, recording eight shutouts.

Saturday's victory also earned BCC the NJCAA District H title to go with the Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference and NJCAA Region 8 crowns it earned during the regular season.
