Eastern Florida Golfers Lose Ground at National Tournament

May 15, 2014 - Eastern Florida's golf team failed to make up ground on Thursday's third day of the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament in Burlington, Iowa.

Eastern Florida, which rallied from 18th to eighth place in Wednesday's second round, fell to 10th on Thursday shooting a total of 312 for a three-round total of 934.

Indian Hills Community College leads at 896.

Twenty-two teams are competing.

Individually for Eastern Florida Kyle Benson and Brad Gray are tied for 35th at 233 thanks to their rounds of 78 and 76 respectively. Nick Maynard is tied for 41st at 234 after a round of 79. Drew Cooke is tied for 50th at 236 after a round of 81 and Arthur Leonard is tied for 74th at 241 after a round of 79.

Zac Oliver of Paris Junior College leads at 220.

The 72-hole tournament concludes on Friday. Eastern Florida is making its 12th consecutive appearance in the national tournament.
