Eastern Florida Golfers Fourth After Panther Invitational's First Day

March 17, 2014 - Eastern Florida's golf team sits fourth 26 strokes off the pace after the first day of the Florida Tech Panther Invitational at The Majors in Palm Bay.

NCAA Division II St. Leo University leads the six-team field with a 36-hole total of 310-282-592. Florida Tech is second at 308-289-597. Florida Tech's B team is third at 310-294-604. Eastern Florida shot 321-297-618.

The University of Tampa is fifth at 316-303-619 and Guilford College sixth at 327-312-639.

Eastern Florida is the only two-year college in the field.

Individually Eastern Florida's Dalton Bartlett shot 75-76-151 for 11th place; Kyle Benson 77-75-152 for a tie for 12th; Arthur Leonard 85-72-157 for 18th; Drew Cooke 84-74-158 for a tie for 19th and Nick Maynard 87-82-169 for a tie for 36th.

Florida Tech's Ray Badenhorst leads the field at 76-65-141.

The tournament concludes with 18 holes beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Spectators are welcome.
