Webber Fall Invitational Next Stop for Eastern Florida Golfers

Sept. 19, 2013 - Eastern Florida State College's golf team competes in its second tournament of the season in the 20th Annual Webber Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Lake Wales Country Club.

The Titans finished fifth in the season-opening Wallace State Community College tournament in Cullman, AL on Sept. 9-10 and head coach Jamie Howell naturally is seeking improvement.

"The Wallace tournament was an eye opener for the guys and they recognized we need to continue to keep getting a little better at everything we do," Howell said. "There is no need for large changes. We just need to improve our basics and the scoring will take care of itself.

"There are no expectations to date other than we arrive prepared to play."

Eastern Florida will be one of 12 teams competing over 54 holes at Webber.

The Titans play four more tournaments this fall: Oct. 21-22 at Darton College in Albany, GA; Oct. 28-29 at Rollins College in Winter Park; Nov. 1-3 against Melbourne's Florida Tech in the Ryder Cup-style Collegiate Players Cup and Nov. 11-12 at defending NJCAA Division I national champion Central Alabama.
