Golf National Tournament Journal: Day Three Brings Good Scores

May 17, 2013 - Brevard Community College freshman golfer Arthur Leonard is competing along with his teammates in the NJCAA Division I Men's National Championship Tournament in Lubbock, TX this week, and is relating his experiences in a daily journal. Here is his third report.

For round three I teed off at 11.54 a.m. The wind had nearly died down and what wind there was, was in the opposite direction to the first two days.

Due to the conditions being so good I knew as a team we had to go low to get ourselves back in contention. I shot 71 and I played really well, I hit 17 greens. Again I had my struggles with my putter but I played well enough to shoot a solid score.

The team shot 276, which is minus 12. This is exactly what we needed to give ourselves a chance going into the final round. We are tied for fifth only six back. We have a chance to win.
