BCC Golfers Finish Fourth in Barry University Tournament

April 2, 2013 - Brevard Community College's golf team, the only two-year college that competed in Barry University's Buccaneer Invitational, finished fourth in a field of 14 on Tuesday.

BCC shot a three-round total of 869. NCAA Division II Nova Southeastern University shot 827 to win the tournament at par 71, 6,733-yard Normandy Shores in Miami Beach.

Host NCAA Division II Barry was second at 840 and NCAA Division II Lynn University was third at 855. Melbourne's Florida Tech, also an NCAA Division II school, was seventh at 877.

Individually for BCC Blake Biggs finished tied for fifth at 70-73-66-209. Kyle Benson shot 70-70-74-214; Keith Greene 77-70-71-218; Arthur Leonard 77-77-75-229 and Anthony Skirk 77-82-74-233.

Next up for BCC is the NJCAA District 4 tournament on April 15-16 in Pendleton, S.C., the stepping stone to the NJCAA Division I national tournament in which BCC has competed for 10 consecutive seasons.
