BCC Golfers Second After Tournament's First Round

October 22, 2012 - The Brevard Community College golf team sits in second place after the first round of the NJCAA Division I District 4 Preview tournament in Pendleton, S.C.

BCC shot 287 to trail leader Central Alabama by five strokes. BCC's Keith Greene shot 69 to tie for first place individually.

BCC head coach Jamie Howell isn't conceding anything to Central Alabama.

"It's early in the tournament," he said. "It is obvious Central Alabama is very good. I don't plan on playing second fiddle to them all year."

Other BCC scores: Arthur Leonard, 72; Brett Maue, 73; Nick Maynard, 73; Blake Biggs, 74.

Due to the slow pace of play the second round will conclude Tuesday morning to be followed by the third round for a total of 54 holes over the par-71, 6,500-yard Boscobel Golf & Country Club course.
