BCC Golf Team Heads to Georgia for Darton College Tournament

October 4, 2012 - The Brevard Community College golf team plays its third tournament of the fall season on Monday and Tuesday at Darton College in Albany, GA and head coach Jamie Howell is looking for his younger players to step forward.

"I am taking a younger team," Howell said.  "Arthur Leonard and Brett Maue are staying home this trip to avoid missing too much class so early in the semester. (Sophomores) Keith Greene and Blake Biggs should lead the other three during the event but it will be an opportunity for a freshman to step up."

The 54-hole tournament will be played at River Pointe Gulf Club.

BCC, ranked fourth nationally in the Golf World/Nike Golf NJCAA Divisions I and II College Coaches' Poll finished second and third respectively in its first two tournaments of the season. Also freshmen Leonard and Maue finished second individually in the Wallace State, AL., and Webber International tournaments respectively.

Next up for BCC is the NJCAA District 4 preview on Oct. 22-23 in Pendleton, S.C.
