Titans Golf Second at Southeastern Invitational
February 14, 2012 - The Brevard Community College Titans golf team returned from their second tournament of the spring season with a second place finish in the Southeastern Fire Invitational. Playing alongside 11 four year universities at the 6562 yard, par 72 Lake Region Yacht and Country Club in winter Haven Florida, BCC was the only Community College competing in the field of twelve teams. Webber International University of Lake Wales, Florida took home team honors with a three round total of 867 (13 over par). The Titans finished at 883 and were led by sophomore Billy Anderson's third place finish at 215 (one under par) and sophomore Justin Kalanquin's fifth place finish at 217. Justin was tied for the lead after the first two rounds at 140 (four under par) and struggled during the third round finishing with a 77. Rounding out the Titans scoring were freshman Keith Greene at 226 (20th), sophomore Bryan Odaiyar at 228 (24th) and sophomore Travis Tolbert at 230 (32nd). Individual medalist for the event went to Webber senior Tom Gamble at 210 (six under par).
The next event on schedule for the golf team takes them to the University of South Carolina - Beaufort on March 12 – 13.
