Women's Basketball Visits Miami Dade for Conference Game
Feb. 4, 2014 - Eastern Florida State College's women's basketball team continues Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference play on Wednesday as it visits Miami Dade College in Kendall.
Tipoff is 5:30 p.m.
Eastern Florida is 4-19 overall and 1-8 in the conference. Miami is 7-16 and 4-5 and defeated Eastern Florida 78-49 on Jan. 11 in Melbourne.
Eastern Florida has played better as of late, defeating conference foe Broward College 67-47 on Jan. 25 and suffering two three-point losses to Indian River State College.
Freshmen Jessica Doyle and Rachelle (Rocky) Aupont have provided the bulk of the Eastern Florida offense, accounting for 34 of the Titans 53 points in a 56-53 overtime loss to Indian River on Saturday.
Also, Aupont added 13 rebounds to her 18 points for her fourth double-double in the last five games. Aupont did not play in the Jan. 11 loss to Miami.
Doyle is Eastern Florida's leading scorer, averaging 17.4 points per game; is the leading free throw shooter at 84.8 percent; is second on the team in three-point shooting percentage at 32.4 and second in overall field goal percentage at 38.2.
The Titans also will visit Broward and Palm Beach State College on Saturday and Feb. 11 respectively before returning home for a 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14 non-conference game with Trinity Baptist on the Melbourne Campus. Admission to Eastern Florida home games is free.
