Eastern Florida Women Fall 56-44 at St. Petersburg
Jan. 28, 2014 - Eastern Florida's women's basketball team managed only 17 first-half points en route to a 56-44 Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference defeat at St. Petersburg College on Tuesday.
Eastern Florida outscored St. Petersburg 27-23 in the second half but the deficit was too big to overcome.
The defeat dropped Eastern Florida to 4-18 overall and 1-7 in the conference. St. Petersburg improved to 15-6 and 5-2.
Freshman and leading scorer Jessica Doyle set the pace again for Eastern Florida with 15 points and three assists. Classmate Kristina Bugarski added 11 points going 3-for-5 from the three-point line. She also grabbed six rebounds.
Next up for Eastern Florida is a 2 p.m. Saturday home conference game against Indian River State College on the Melbourne Campus. Admission is free.
