Titan Women Fall 72-42 to St. Louis

Jan. 6, 2014 - A 50-9 halftime deficit proved to be too much for Eastern Florida State College's women's basketball team on Monday night as it dropped a 72-42 home-court decision to St. Louis Community College.

Eastern Florida's Titans fell to 3-12 at the halfway point in their season. St. Louis improved to 10-3.

St. Louis' biggest lead of the game was 57-9 early in the second half. Eastern Florida finally found the range but by then it was too late.

Freshman Deja Bradshaw led Eastern Florida, which dressed just six players, with 12 points. Classmate Jessica Doyle added 11.

Freshman Deborah Holcomb led St. Louis with 21 points including five three-pointers. Classmate Abby Hutson added 11.

Eastern Florida resumes Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference competition at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth. The Titans return home to face conference foe Miami Dade College at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Admission to Eastern Florida home games in the Melbourne Campus gym is free.
