Women's Basketball Loses Conference Opener
January 4, 2014 - The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team had a hill to climb from the start of their 57-53 loss to Broward College.
The Titans started slow on Broward's home court in Davie and at halftime the score was Broward 28 and Eastern Florida 15.
There was a wide margin in the score until sophomore Kiersten Colgan got a hot hand near the end of the game, sinking four straight three-point shots to close in on Broward and get the Titans back in the game.
Colgan, a forward out of Satellite Beach High School, was Eastern Florida's high scorer with 17 points.
Freshman Kristina Bugarski contributed 13 points.
The loss moves Eastern Florida to 3-11 on the season.
The Titans return home to face St. Louis Community College at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6 in the Melbourne Campus Gymnasium. Admission is free.
