Eastern Florida Women Fall to 1-1 on Season With 82-75 Defeat
Nov. 2, 2013 - Eastern Florida State College's women's basketball team dropped to 1-1 on the season on Saturday, losing 82-75 to Johnson & Wales on the second day of the Eagle Classic at Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville.
Freshman Rhaeven Kemp led Eastern Florida with 16 points and seven steals. Classmate Jessica Doyle scored 15 points, going 8-for-9 from the free throw line.
Freshman Kristina Bugarski scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Johnson & Wales, a four-year school out of North Miami, led 40-31 at the half.
"Our effort wasn't as good as Friday," Eastern Florida head coach Jim Grimes said referring to the Titans' season-opening victory over Florida College.
"We didn't do the little things that needed to be done to be successful. Hopefully we can bounce back and have a good performance and be successful next weekend in Marianna."
Eastern Florida travels to Marianna to compete in the Thursday-Saturday www.girlsbasketballreport.com Classic at Chipola College where it plays nationally ranked Chipola, Florida Gulf Coast and nationally ranked Darton College.
