BCC Women's Basketball Signs First 2013-2014 Recruit

April 24, 2013 - Brevard Community College women's basketball coach Jim Grimes has signed his first recruit, 5-foot, 4-inch guard/forward Dejah Bradshaw from American High School in Hialeah, FL.

"Dejah is a great addition to our team." Grimes said. "She plays with a lot of energy and I expect her to come in and be an important piece in our rebuilding the program.

"She is a great kid, and has been a leader on her high school team. We are very excited about what she will bring to the table as a player and as a student here on our campus."

As a senior and team captain Bradshaw averaged 12.1 points and 3.1 assists per game and made 44 three-pointers for the season.

For her career at American Bradshaw scored 676 points, was successful on 104 three-pointers, and collected 139 steals and 77 assists.

She was an honorable mention All-Dade County selection by the Miami Herald in 2011, 2012, and 2013. A Dade All-Star she played in the Dade vs. Broward and Dade vs. Palm Beach All-Star Games.

Bradshaw led American to two straight regional playoff appearances. She was selected by her teammates as the team's best offensive player and best three-point shooter. She also played two seasons for the Miami Suns AAU team where she competed against some of the top players in the country.
