BCC Women Fall to Hillsborough, 71-59

December 8, 2012 - The Brevard Community College women's basketball team dropped its third game in three days and its sixth in a row on Saturday but did not go quietly, falling 71-59 to Hillsborough Community College.

"We came out with defensive intensity and pushed the ball in transition which made a huge difference in the way we performed," BCC head coach Renee Bellamy said.

"I was proud of our ladies for showing the will to win. We must build on that leading into our Classic."

BCC fell to 2-9 with the loss on the final day of the tournament at Daytona State College. Hillsborough improved to 6-4.

Sophomore co-captain Shaneece Stephens led BCC with 29 points and four steals. Fellow co-captain and classmate Kasie Berry had seven points and six rebounds.

Next up for BCC is the two-day Lady Titans Classic at the Melbourne Campus gym. BCC plays Shelton State of Alabama at 8 p.m. Friday and ASA College of New York at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Admission for the tournament featuring three games on Friday and three more on Saturday is $5 for adults and $3 for children 17 and under.
