Lady Titans Basketball Falls in Rematch With Santa Fe

November 16, 2012 - The rematch between the Brevard Community College Lady Titans and the Santa Fe College Saints didn’t end well for BCC.

After losing a heart-breaker 88-83 on November 6 at home in Melbourne and being down just one point at the half (43-42) on Friday night, the Lady Titans couldn’t keep pace with the hot-shooting Saints in the second half, as BCC fell 97-66 on the first day of the College of Central Florida Tournament in Ocala, FL.

Sophomore sensation Shaneece Stephens led the Lady Titans with 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Jasmine Bullard had 10 points, Kasie Berry and Arquinetta Daly each netted 9 points, and Shante Stevenson and Briana Reeves added 9 a piece. Berry led with 10 rebounds.

“We came out really well in the first six minutes and had them down 10 points,” Lady Titans coach Renee Bellamy said. “We played well in the first half, but only played in spurts in the second half. I was pleased with the first half and the way we came out in attack mode, but was a little disappointed in the way the second half went.”

The loss drops BCC to 1-3 on the year, while Santa Fe ups its record to 4-3.

The Lady Titans are back in action Saturday night at 6 p.m. against the tournament-hosts College of Central Florida, who entered the event 1-3 on the year.
