Eastern Florida's Julian Adams Signs With Ave Maria
Eastern Florida head men’s basketball coach Jeremy Shulman joins sophomore Julian Adams in the EFSC gymnasium along with Julian’s mom Robin Irvin at Julian’s signing with Ave Maria University of Ave Maria, FL.
April 29, 2014 - Sophomore forward Julian Adams has become the 20th player in men's basketball head coach Jeremy Shulman's four-year tenure at Eastern Florida State College to sign with a four-year university.
Adams, a 6-foot, 7-inch 180-pound forward from Palm Bay, FL and Bayside High has signed to continue his education and play basketball at Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, FL. Ave Maria competes at the NAIA level.
Adams joins 16 other players who have signed to play at NCAA Division I institutions and three others who have signed to play at either Division II or Division III NCAA schools or at the NAIA level.
Adams played in 22 games for Eastern Florida, starting 11, in the 2013-2014 season.
"Today is very big for me," Adams said. "I was given an opportunity 2½ years ago and I tried to make the most out of it. I'm happy that out of an opportunity I can get a scholarship and go on and do what I love when most people said I might be done playing basketball after high school."
Shulman was happy for Adams.
"It's a testament to his hard work," Shulman said. "I don't think I've ever had a player improve as much as Julian Adams has."
