Eastern Florida Men Beat FSCJ 79-74 for Third Straight Victory
Nov. 13, 2013 - Freshman Demetrius McReynolds sank a crucial three-pointer and led all Eastern Florida State scorers on Wednesday as the Titans men's basketball team beat host Florida State College Jacksonville 79-74.
McReynolds scored 12 points, grabbed six rebounds and was good on the three-pointer for a 75-70 lead as the Titans improved to 4-1. FSCJ fell to 3-2.
Sophomore Shaheed Davis added 11 points and six rebounds for Eastern Florida.
"This was a tough road win against a quality opponent," said Eastern Florida head coach Jeremy Shulman whose team won its third straight game.
"I'm proud of our guys for finding a way. These are the type of games in which great teams find a way to win even when they are not playing well in a hostile environment. It reminds of last year (Southern Conference championship team.)"
Eastern Florida led at the half, 38-27.
The Titans return to action playing TAAG Academy of Tampa at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Melbourne Campus gym. Admission is free.
