Coger Signs to Become Fifth Titans Men's Basketball Recruit

Tyrek Coger

May 29, 2013 - Brevard Community College men's basketball coach Jeremy Shulman has signed his fifth recruit for the 2013-2014 season, 6-foot, 8-inch, 250-pound post player Tyrek Coger.

Coger becomes the second player from Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C. to sign with BCC, the first being 6-2 guard Cam Scott.

Coger averaged 14 points and eight rebounds per game at Word of God. He had previously signed with NCAA Division I Middle Tennessee State.

"Tyrek is a huge get for us, as he chose us over some of the other top programs in the nation," Shulman said. "Tyrek is big and skilled, with great feet and soft hands. If he will come here ready to work his tail off, Tyrek could emerge into one of the top post players in the nation while here."

In addition to Scott, Shulman also earlier signed 5-7 guard Jermohn Queen of Suart, FL Martin County High School, 6-6 wing Landus Anderson of Florida High in Tallahassee and 6-3 guard T.J. Cromer of Westover High in Albany, GA.

BCC will compete starting July 1 under its new name Eastern Florida State College.
