Titans Finish Season Sweep of Daytona

November 19, 2012 - Brevard Community College's men's basketball team went on the road Monday night for a key regional game against Daytona State College, and came away with a 87-63 victory, completing a season-sweep of the Falcons.

With the game tied at halftime, BCC came out of the half on a mission, and outscored Daytona 54-30 in the second stanza.

Sophomore point guard Nyles Evans led the way with a monster game, netting 19 points, to go along with nine assists, and four steals, plus Evans shot five of 10 from three-point range.

Oklahoma State-signee Gary Gaskins had 15 points and eight boards, along with two blocked shots.

Three other Titans were in double figures: sophomore Addison Spruill with 13 points, and sophomore Aldor Kola and freshman Mike Kirkland each with 11. Freshman point guard Ben Patrick tallied seven assists.

In Brevard’s last game before the Thanksgiving break, the Titans won their third in a row, and are now 5-2 on the year. Daytona State drops to 1-6.

After the break, BCC returns home for games Tue., Nov. 27 and Wed., Nov. 28 against Southwest Academy and Polk State College, respectively, both at 7 p.m. at home at Titan Coliseum on BCC's Melbourne Campus.
