Titans Basketball Rolls Over TAAG

November 12, 2012 - Coming off a tough road loss on Saturday, the Brevard Community College Titans returned home to the welcome confines of Titan Coliseum with a resounding 112-59 victory over TAAG Academy.

Brevard moves to 3-2 on the year, and undefeated at home (2-0), while TAAG drops to 0-5, though their previous four games were much closer margins.

Reigning FCSAA State Player of the Week, 6’4" sophomore guard/wing Addison Spruill, led the way with 27 points, to go along with eight rebounds for the Titans.

5’11" sophomore guard Nyles Evans followed with 18 points and five steals, while fellow sophomore Gary Gaskins (an Oklahoma State commit) had 17 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots. Ben Patrick had a game-high nine assists.

The game was a great opportunity for some new faces to show what they could do on the court, and Tim “Sunshine” Debish, Jordan “JD” Smith, and Aldor Kola grabbed the moment. Each had career highs in points, with Sunshine netting 16 (including four three-point shots), JD scoring 14 (three were three-pointers), and Kola adding 11 points (three were threes).

For the game, the Titans shot an astounding 17 of 38 from three-point range.

Brevard returns to action Wednesday, Nov. 14 with a key regional match-up versus Florida State College-Jacksonville. That game is also home at Titan Coliseum with a 7 p.m. tip off.

On Mon., Nov. 19 BCC is back on the road for a rematch with Daytona State College.
