Baseball Suffers 5-0 Defeat at Palm Beach State

April 2, 2014 - Eastern Florida's baseball team suffered its third straight Florida College System Activities Southern Conference loss in a row on Wednesday, falling 5-0 at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth.

The shutout was the second in three games for the Titans and dropped them to 7-7 in the conference and 21-12 overall. Palm Beach improved to 7-6, jumping over Eastern Florida into second place in the conference, and 22-16 overall.

Right-hander Jesse Schullstrom took the loss for Eastern Florida, which managed just six hits while surrendering seven. Eastern Florida committed three errors.

"We pitched well but made a few routine errors that cost us three or four runs," said Eastern Florida head coach Jeff Tam.

The Titans will seek to get back on track when they host conference leader Miami Dade College (9-4, 20-12) at 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus. Admission is free.

Eastern Florida and Miami Dade split their first two games in Kendall.
