Eastern Florida Falls 12-8 to Indian River State

March 22, 2014 - Eastern Florida's baseball team dropped a 12-8 Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference decision to visiting Indian River State College at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus on Saturday.

"You cant win when you allow 27 baserunners," Eastern Florida head coach Jeff Tam said referencing the 14 hits, eight walks and five hit batters that Titans pitchers allowed.

Sophomore John Piriz was the losing pitcher.

Eastern Florida collected nine hits. Each team committed an error.

The loss dropped Eastern Florida to 18-9 overall and 6-4 in the conference. Indian River improved to 13-15 and 4-6.

Next up for Eastern Florida is a 6 p.m. non-conference home game on Monday against Morton College. Admission is free.

The Titans then visit Webber International's junior varsity at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Babson Park and travel to Davie for a two-game conference series with Broward College at 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
