Eastern Florida Falls 11-5 to Miami Dade

March 15, 2014 - Eastern Florida's baseball committed five errors in dropping an 11-5 decision to host Miami Dade College on Saturday in Kendall.

The loss dropped Eastern Florida to 15-8 overall and 5-3 in the Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference. It also broke a four-game Eastern Florida winning streak.

Miami Dade improved to 12-11 and 3-3.

Hector Perez took the loss for Eastern Florida.

Offensively the Titans held their own with 11 hits to eight for Miami Dade. Francisco Cruz went 4-for-5 with two home runs and three runs batted in. Christian Diaz went 3-for-5, Efren Sanchez went 2-for-4 and Jack Machonis 2-for-5.

Next up for Eastern Florida are games against College Le Fleche of Quebec, Canada beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus.

The Titans resume conference play at 3 p.m. Friday against Indian River State College in Fort Pierce and then host the Pioneers at 1 p.m. Saturday in Melbourne. Admission to Eastern Florida home games is free.
