BCC Defeats Hillsborough 7-6 in 11 Innings

March 18, 2013 - Shaking off a disappointing loss on Saturday Brevard Community College's baseball team rallied from four runs down early to defeat non-conference foe Hillsborough Community College 7-6 in 11 innings on Monday.

The victory at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus improved BCC's overall record to 15-14-1. Hillsborough dropped to 12-16-1.

Unlike in Saturday's 7-6 loss to Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference foe Indian River State, BCC got timely hitting and clutch, effective pitching to vanquish Hillsborough.

The Titans outhit the visitors 15-8 behind a 5-for-6 effort from Chris Dennis; a 3-for-5 night from Jorge Gonzales; a 2-for-4 effort from T.J. Glessner and 2-for-5 efforts from Matt Harris and David King.

Dennis singled in the 11th and was advanced on Glessner's sacrifice bunt. Dennis moved to third on a wild pitch and scored the winning run on an infield error.

Chris Gilmore got the win for BCC.

Next up for the Titans is a 7 p.m. Tuesday game against Canada at Bruce Bochy Field. Admission is free.

The Titans return to conference play on Friday and Saturday at Broward College.
