BCC Baseball Team Falls 9-6 at Palm Beach State

March 5, 2013 - The Brevard Community College baseball team dropped its third straight Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference game on Tuesday, losing 9-6 at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth.

BCC fell to 2-3 in the conference and 10-11-1 overall. Palm Beach improved to 3-2 and 18-8.

Ashton Fronsoe was the losing pitcher. BCC pitchers allowed nine free passes - seven walks and hit two batters - and six of them came around to score.

BCC outhit Palm Beach 11-9 and committee three errors to four for the hosts.

"It came down to executing pitches," BCC head coach Jeff Tam said. "We need to command the strike zone and work ahead in the count to be successful."

Chad Searcy went 3-for-5 at the plate for BCC, which hosts Palm Beach State at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus. Admission is free.
