BCC Scores 9-3 Baseball Victory

February 19, 2013 - Brevard Community College's baseball team climbed above .500 on Tuesday, defeating Community College of Baltimore County 9-3 at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus.

BCC improved to 7-6-1 while CCBC fell to 0-4, all four loses to Florida colleges.

Righthander Kenton Hering was the winning pitcher for BCC, which outhit CCBC 15-6. Each team committed an error.

Chris Dennis went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs batted in for BCC. Matt Harris was 2-for-4 with a triple; Chad Searcy was 2-for-3 with three runs batted in; Miguel Frias 2-for-3 with two runs batted in as was Hunter Denning. Roman Restrepo also had an RBI.

"The guys executed in every aspect of the game and played hard," BCC head coach Jeff Tam said. "We need to build on it and keep it rolling."

BCC next plays at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Daytona State College and returns home to host Seminole State College at 1 p.m. Sunday. Admission to BCC home games is free.
