BCC Defeats Daytona State 10-2 for First Home Baseball Victory

February 6, 2013 - Brevard Community College's baseball team scored his first home field victory of the season with a 10-2 defeat of Daytona State College at Bruce Bochy Field on Wednesday.

BCC improved to 4-3.

BCC rapped out 10 hits while holding Daytona State to four. Sophomore left-hander Danny Dixon got the win for BCC and freshman right-hander Chayce Hubbard recorded a hold. BCC did not commit an error. Daytona State committed two.

Sophomore T.J. Glessner went 2-for-3 from the plate for BCC with a double and two runs batted in. Freshman Chris Torres was 2-for-4 with a double and a run batted in and freshman Jorge Gonzales 2-for-5 with a run batted in.

"The guys played great," BCC head coach Jeff Tam said. "They put all facets of the game together for their first home win. We just need to build on this and keep moving forward positively."

BCC's next game is 3 p.m. Friday against Lake-Sumter Community College (4-1) in Leesburg.

Lake-Sumter visits Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus on Monday. First pitch is 5 p.m.
