Celebrate your graduation
Students are not required to attend a commencement ceremony. However, it does provide a formal occasion for students, family and friends to celebrate a significant milestone in their life. The ceremonies are held at the King Center for the Performing Arts at the EFSC Melbourne campus.
The College has spring and fall commencement events. Students who graduate in the summer are encouraged to walk in the fall ceremony. Two ceremonies are held at each event, with students divided by their home address or major.
For spring and fall graduates, when you submit your Intent to Graduate Application, be sure to RSVP for the ceremony on your application! Missed it on your application or you're a summer graduate who wants to let us know you'll be attending the fall ceremony? Don't worry! Just RSVP to email@example.com.
About two weeks before the ceremony, you will receive a letter with instructions about your specific time and check-in location.
Before the Ceremony: Report to the atrium of Building 10 on the Melbourne Campus 60 minutes prior to the ceremony. You will receive a calling card that will tell you where to line up. Verify your name, address & any honors listed are correct.
Tickets for Guests: Tickets are not required; however, seating is limited and it is recommended that you limit your guests to four (4). Guest seating in the auditorium will begin approximately 60 minutes before the ceremony. There is also seating in the Rotunda area of the King Center, where a large video projector screen will provide live ceremony viewing. Every effort will be made to seat all guests inside the auditorium.
During the Ceremony: You will receive an empty diploma cover at the ceremony. All diplomas are mailed approximately 4 – 6 weeks after the ceremony. A professional photographer will take your picture while you are on the stage. The photographer will send you proof copies either by electronic or regular mail and you may purchase photos directly from him.
After the Ceremony: You and your guests are invited to attend a reception in your honor, to be held in the Gymnasium, Building 6. You are encouraged to park on the east side of the campus, near the Gymnasium, to allow for an easier exit after the celebration.
Eastern Florida State College Commencement Ceremonies are located at The King Center, a regional performing arts center located on the Melbourne Campus of EFSC with its entrance on Post Road.
