Scholarships from Sources Outside Eastern Florida State College

Many organizations offer scholarships for students pursing higher education and Eastern Florida State College strongly encourages students to apply for such assistance. All outside scholarships must be reported to EFSC’s Office of Financial Aid.

For female students.

Brecht Scholarship Fund
This scholarship for Brevard County students is administered by the University of Florida, however the scholarship is not limited to use at the University of Florida and is available to EFSC students.

Brevard County Civilian Military Community Relations Council
For Brevard County military and civilians.

For nursing students, physician assistant students, or nurse practitioner students.

Scholarships for Brevard County students, including several specifically for EFSC students:

Election Supervisors Scholarship
The 2016 Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections Scholarship is now taking applications at all Brevard County Elections Office locations: Titusville, Viera, Melbourne and Palm Bay. Three $1,200 scholarships will be presented to Political Science, Public or Business Administration, Journalism or Mass Communications majors. Scholarships will be awarded in Summer 2016.

Garden Club by the Sea
For students pursuing degrees that support the club’s objectives of conservation, beautification and education.

Health First - CCH Gladys Mosher Award: 2016 Deadline - April 15
This scholarship was established by Health First’s Cape Canaveral Hospital Auxiliary in 1996 to honor the memory of Gladys Mosher, a former teacher and past president of the Auxiliary, and all other auxiliary members who have gone before and given dedicated service to the hospital. The scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving student interested in continuing his/her education in the health care field.

Jess Parish Medical Foundation
For students studying nursing or planning a career in the medical field.

Junior League of North & Central Brevard
For high school seniors who are pursuing a college education and have demonstrated voluntarism in school and the community.

Military Officers Association of America – Cape Canaveral Chapter
For juniors and seniors in college who are to descendants and wards of active duty or retired members of the Uniformed Services of the United States.

NASA College Scholarship Fund
Applicants must be dependents of current/retired NASA employees or reimbursable detailees and must be pursuing a course of study in the science or engineering field. 

Reginald E. Johnson Memorial Scholarship
For graduating high school seniors with financial need.

Society of Women Engineers Space Coast
For graduating high school women who select majors in engineering, mathematics and/or computer science. 

Space Coast League of Cities, Inc.
Deadline: October 28, 2016 - A scholarship for up to $2,500 to Brevard County Residents who are enrolled at a Florida college or University with a major in Public Administration, Public Planning, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Urban Planning, Environmental Engineering/Science, or Leisure Services.

Space Coast Jazz Society
For students who plan to go to college and study music with an emphasis on jazz.

Wuesthoff Auxiliary Scholarships
For students pursuing medically-related fields. 

Zonta Club of Melbourne
For women studying business or women with a demonstrated history of advocating for advancing the status of women worldwide.

For Students Planning to Transfer upon Graduation

The following scholarships might be of interest to students planning to transfer institutions after obtaining their Associate degrees from EFSC.

2016 UCF Transfer Scholarship
UCF is offering a scholarship to students transferring directly from a Florida Public Community College or State College to UCF for the Fall 2016 semester.

2016-17 UCF Diversity Enhancement Scholarship for Transfers
The Diversity Enhancement Scholarship for Transfers (DEST) is a competitive program for qualified minority (Alaskan Native, American Indian, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, andPacific Islander) Florida residents, which is awarded on the basis of financial need, academic merit, both need/merit, and other selection criteria. You must adhere to the application guidelines in order to qualify for priority consideration. *The program gives priority to students who declare a major in one of the STEM disciplines: fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

Florida Tech FITS-STEM Scholarship
The FITS-STEM scholarship is for community college and state college students who transfer to Florida Tech and major in either civil, chemical, or ocean engineering. The scholarship provides up to $10,000 per year for a two-year period, based on financial need. Furthermore, this scholarship can be combined with other university grants and scholarships.

Florida Tech Presidential EFSC Scholarship
Florida Tech offers 15 Presidential Scholarships annually to exceptional EFSC students who are graduating and wish to continue their undergraduate studies at Florida Tech's Melbourne campus. Additional information is also available regarding the EFSC-Florida Tech Track.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation
This is the largest private scholarship for community college transfer students in the country.

University of Central Florida Alumni Association
