Effective May 2016, the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Eastern Florida State College has been granted Candidate for Accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (1111 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA, 22314; phone: 703-706-3245; email: email@example.com). Candidate for Accreditation is a pre-accreditation status of affiliation with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education that indicates that the program is progressing toward accreditation and may matriculate students in technical/professional courses. Candidate for Accreditation is not an accreditation status nor does it assure eventual accreditation.
- CAPTE’s decision regarding EFSC’s initial accreditation will be made at the spring meeting in April 2018. Graduation for the charter class is tentatively set for May 2018 pending CAPTE approval.
- Upon graduation, students will be eligible to sit for the licensure examination. This exam is offered four times a year in the months of January, April, July and October. Test dates for 2018 have not yet been made available.
