Take the Step into Management
The Public Safety Management Bachelor's Degree specialization prepares students to effectively manage and lead public safety agencies. Prime candidates for the program include those with an associate degree or extensive experience in Law Enforcement, Corrections, Criminal Justice, Fire Science, Emergency Medical Services, Crime Scene Technology or Public Administration.
The degree also is perfect for those with experience in the public safety field who
want to move into a supervisory position.
Students in the program develop skills to enhance their decision-making abilities in the areas of management, communication, emergency planning, homeland security, human resources and public financing. These skills are ideal for those seeking employment or promotions within fire and rescue departments, law enforcement agencies, corrections, emergency management facilities, planning and utilities departments in both the public and private sectors.
The admissions process follows the general bachelor's degree enrollment steps. Students are accepted into the program for the Spring and Fall terms only which start in January and August each year. The degree is also Financial Aid eligible. Be sure to meet with a BAS advisor to plan your customized plan of study.
These BAS programs are designed for students who already hold an Associate in Science degree (A.S.), Associate in Arts degree (A.A.) or higher from a regionally accredited institution, including recent graduates and those with experience in the work force. An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree does not meet the minimum eligibility requirement for entry into this program. AAS degree holders who intend to transfer into the BAS program should consult with an academic advisor to review coursework and determine the best transfer options.
