Helping students with access

Welcome! Our team offers services focused on Student Access for Improved Learning — known as SAIL. (Formerly called the Office for Students with Disabilities). We provide services and accommodations for EFSC students with documented disabilities that significantly impact major life functions. Examples of disabilities include:

  • ADHD/ADD, autism or Asperger's Syndrome, mental illnesses: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression or anxiety.
  • Physical disabilities/diseases: cerebral palsy, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, hearing impairments, visual impairment and more.
  • Learning disabilities in writing, reading, math, comprehension, problem solving, organizational skills, time management and more

SAIL most commonly works with students with learning disabilities — a lifelong disorder that affects the manner in which individuals with normal or above average intelligence select, retain and express information. Services are provided on a case-by-case basis and are dependent upon the impact of the student's disability.

While personal services and personal aides cannot be provided, reasonable accommodations will be arranged to assist a student with a disability based on documentation provided by the student.

If you know you are capable but are having trouble in one subject area, or have another disability, contact the SAIL staff member at your campus. Our team will review your required documentation and forms and work with you to set up necessary accommodations to assist you with your studies here at the College.

Feel free to contact any of our offices if you have additional questions or concerns or want to take a test to see if you may qualify as having a disability. We look forward to working with you.
