We offer assistance in reading, writing and mathematics subject areas, using a combination of computer software and personal tutoring assistance. In addition, the Melbourne Learning Lab offers Internet access — for academic purposes only — on all its computers, enabling students to conduct research.

Students enrolled in computer-assisted Prep Writing, Reading and Mathematics classes use the Melbourne Learning Lab facilities to sharpen skills needed to be successful in upper level college courses. These classes feature software lessons with overviews, practices and quizzes, as well as one-on-one assistance from instructors and tutors.

The Learning Lab also houses Vocational and Career Education Academic Support, which assists current EFSC students with basic skills remediation. Remediation for the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) is the primary focus.

There are also Core Scholar Peer Tutors available in a variety of subjects, including Intermediate Algebra, Computer Applications and English Composition.

Self-study resources are also available for students preparing for the PERT.
